Objective:
To teach your child about their family history by
making a family tree.
Directions:
You will be provided with brown and green construction
paper for this project. Have your child lay his or her arm, from
elbow to finger tip, on the brown
construction paper.
Trace your child’s arm, from elbow all the way up
his or her fingers and in between each finger.
This will be the outline of the tree.
Cut out the outline of the tree.
On the green construction paper, draw leaf shapes
and cut out.
(Make sure the leaves are large enough to write
on.)
Write the names of family members on the leaves and
relationship, if possible.
Glue the leaves to the branches (fingers) of the
tree.
You are welcome to add your own stickers,
decorations, and/or pictures to your family tree.
Due Date:
Family
Trees should be completed by Thursday, September 17, and
returned to school either before or on that day to share.
Each child will have the opportunity to share his
or her family tree.
All family trees will be put on display.
