TLC projects help students:

  • to understand and follow oral directions

  • to identify, create, and manipulate shapes

  • to develop an awareness of spatial relationships

  • to develop fine-motor skills

It's important for children to learn basic skills that allow them to grasp the mechanics of everyday obstacles and problems that are a part of mental development in youth.  Some websites also offer online education in the form of Flash games and printable coloring sheets, though it's also important for children to be able to engage their minds with painting, writing and reading books, though the internet makes the latter far easier, through use of websites devoted to wonderful children's books like The Rainbow Fish.

We read The Kissing Hand and made our own Chester raccoon (TLC style).

We read the Rainbow Fish, and we made our own Rainbow Fish and friend using Kaye Espinosa's The Ocean Book.

We learned the song, The Wheels on the Bus.  TLC directions can be found in Kaye Espinosa's Pre-Kindergarten book (September-December).

At the beginning of the year, we focus on writing our name and identifying the names of letters.

We finger paint our name.

We assemble our name puzzle.

We make our name in Play-Doh.

We cover our name with beans.

We stamp our name.

We rainbow write our name.
